“Extended Isolation presents opportunity for me to deeply connect with internal parts of myself that get louder during external silence. This is time for me to strengthen the connection to my inner self. Space to intentionally tend to my internal dialogue; and ensure that the global “pandemic mode-of-existing” does not permanently alter my state-of-being. I listen to my physical body. I listen to my emotional body. I listen to my spiritual body. These conversations with myself are sacred. They are ritual. I respond through movement. These are solo experiences in public space. Sensuous baths to cleanse my three bodies in natural bodies of water. Moments to silently ask myself questions: “How can I be as tender to myself as I am to others?” “How can I show up for me right now?” “How can I nourish me?””

Preparation of this series was documented and featured in the Washington Post and the Baltimore Museum of Art Screening Room
